Thanks to an own goal from Chris Wood and goals from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, Liverpool were able to cruise past Burnley in a 3-0 away win on Saturday.

The Reds are now back to the top of the table with 12 points in 4 League games with the race for the title only just beginning.

Mohamed Salah, who registered an assist in the game, was named a “gentle killer” by former Basel manager Heiko Vogel.

Being a former player for Basel, Salah was also managed by Heiko Vogel back in 2011 to 2012, where they both won the Swiss Super League twice.

Since signing for the Merseysiders back in 2017, Salah has won the Premier League’s Golden Boot twice, the UEFA Champions League and Super Cup.

Speaking about the Egyptian, Vogel said via Goal: “Momo is a gentle killer.

“He had everything – the speed, the finish, and the left foot – and that wasn’t overlooked.

“Still, I would be lying if I said had prophesied such a massive global career for him.

“In fact, I was more sure about others: Toni Kroos or Eden Hazard – I saw them when they were 15 years old. The nice thing is, I met Momo last year and he has not changed at all. That’s outstanding.

“If you knew him… he is not a world star, he has such a gentle character. It was always clear to me that he is an outstanding player, but whether he had the mentality? I didn’t know that exactly.”
