Liverpool Defender Denied Loan Move To Sporting Lisbon

Liverpool defender Rafael Camacho will have to stay at the club until the end of the season after his loan move to Sporting Lisbon was blocked by the Merseysiders.

It was revealed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp don’t want to lose any member of his squad as he tries to navigate his team through a period of several injuries especially on the defensive front.

The German tactician has seen his squad reduced to the bare bones defensively due to the injuries to the central defensive duo of Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren.

Liverpool and Klopp have already allowed England right-back Nathaniel Clyne to join Bournemouth on a short-term loan deal till the end of this season in addition to the permanent transfer of young striker Dominic Solanke to the South Coast club.

Bournemouth paid an initial fee of £19m to sign Solanke.

Portuguese right-sided defender Rafael Camacho was poised to join Portuguese Super League club Sporting Lisbon on loan but that move is off following the new stance taken by Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.

Camacho impressed a great deal for Liverpool in their last game, a 2-1 loss at the hands of fellow Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers in an FA Cup third round clash.

The 18-year-old was given a rare Liverpool start and he justified his inclusion in the team despite ending on the losing end.

Belgian Shot Stopper To Stay At Liverpool Until Summer

It has been revealed that Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet will stay at Anfield for the rest of the season.

This is according to renowned media outlet ESPN.

It was revealed that the Belgian international goalkeeper won’t be granted his desire to leave the club during the ongoing January transfer window.

The former Sunderland star wanted to leave the club last summer but the move was blocked by the club.

French Ligue 1 side Nice are long-term admirers of the Belgian shot stopper and could make a move for him if he’s available for a transfer.

Simon Mignolet has fallen out of favour at Liverpool following the arrival of Brazilian national team star Alisson Becker from Italian Serie A giants AS Roma.

Alisson joined the Reds in a then world record fee for a goalkeeper.

Liverpool paid £67m for his transfer only for Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to break that record days later with his £71m transfer to Chelsea from La Liga club Athletic Bilbao.

Mignolet played second fiddle to the Reds’ first choice goalkeeper Loris Karius last season and he has retained the same position in the present campaign despite the loan exit of Karius to Turkish giants Beskitas.

Alisson is the undisputed first choice goalkeeper at Liverpool this season.
