Is Isco on his way to Chelsea?

Real Madrid midfielder Isco could leave the Estadio Santiago Bernebeu when the January transfer window reopens having fallen out of favour with manager Santiago Solari.

The Spaniard has lost his place in the starting XI since Argentine tactician Santiago Solari took charge of the team earlier this season.

He was appointed the Real Madrid manager in October following the dismissal of Julen Lopetegui who had a torrid time as the Los Merengues boss.

Former Malaga playmaker Isco was a regular fixture under Lopetegui but his playing status has changed since Santiago Solari became the manager.

His situation at Real Madrid has led to talks about his long-term future at the club.

He has been linked with Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to start as from the 1st of January.

Interested clubs will have to pay his release clause which stands at a whooping €700m.

That fee would surpass the world record fee currently held by Paris Saint Germain (PSG) forward Neymar after the French capital club activated the €220m release clause in his Barcelona contract last summer.

Isco was expected to step up at Real Madrid following the exit of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer but he has failed to live up to expectations this season.

Courtois was again calls on Hazard to make Madrid switch

Former Chelsea safe hands,Thibaut Courtois is hoping his fellow countryman Eden Hazard will follow his lead by leaving Chelsea to join Real Madrid this summer.

The Belgian attacker is out of contract at Chelsea after next season and it’s no news that he has great admiration for Reals Madrid whilst admitting he has considered moving after last summer’s World Cup, before being persuaded to stay.

This same situation with Hazard is reminiscent of a similar contractual situation with Courtois was in last summer as he had one year left on his contract at Chelsea – when he managed to force a £35m move to Real.

“It would be nice of course [if Hazard joined Real], but I cannot say much about it,” Courtois told VTM Nieuws.

“That is something he has to decide and Madrid must decide if they want him, because I do not know that either.

“But Eden is a top player and also my buddy, so if he came here it would be fun, but he has to make his choices.”

Although the safe hands was quick to stress he had not spoken to Hazard about the possibility of a move, “No, occasionally we laugh at the fact that we like to play football together but that is something I do not interfere in.

“We will see at the end of the season what can happen but Eden is a fantastic football player.”
