Chelsea legend believes Mourinho is getting tired and can’t handle new stream of players
Ex-Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele has said he thinks that portugese, Jose Mourinho is tired of building players at the club.
Makelele was a very vital member of the Blues team that dominated English football during Mourinho’s first period in charge of the blues.
Even though Makelele believes that Mourinho is still one of the best managers in football, he believes that Mourinho is getting tired of nurturing and bringing up new talents at Manchester United.
At Chelsea, Mourinho had players like me, John Terry, Frank Lampard. Now it’s not the same. This generation is not totally different.
It has made him tired. He has passed through many generation of players. Each one is different and maybe he misses the previous generation. But he still works hard, Makelele said speaking to the Sun.
Mourinho’s relationship with a lot of United players, including midfielder and French star Paul Pogba and defender, Eric Bailly, is quickly deteriorating this season.
Pogba, who came back to join United from Juventus in 2016 for a then record breaking fee of £89 million, recently complained about his behavior and that of his teammates and has refused to confirm his long-term future or dismiss talks that he is having issues with Mourinho.
Two losses, against Brighton and Tottenham, has seen Zinedine Zidane serious linked to replace Mourinho, but the win against Burnley before the international break has reduced rising tension at the club.
