Messi needs to take a break, Maradona supports troubled star

The winner of the World Cup has requested an iconic presence in the current squad to avoid traveling with his country and concentrate on matters regarding Barcelona.

Lionel Messi needs space to breathe, a rest, says Diego Maradona, with the Barcelona star being urged not to travel with Argentina.

After a disappointing performance in the 2018 World Cup, a man who captained his country in Russia is weighing his options.

The 31-year-old has been left out of the latest team of the Albiceleste and Maradona believes that the five-time winner of the Golden Ball should take a prolonged break from international duty.

I would give Messi space to breathe, the winner of the 1986 World Cup told Ole.
I would tell him to play in Europe, not to travel any more and not let anybody use him.

He does not need to go to play a friendly just because the team wins more often with him.

Argentina is entering a new era with Messi or without Messi as Jorge Sampaoli has left his position as coach.

The search has begun for his successor, with several candidates shortlisted.

Maradona has suggested that the attention should go to Cesar Menotti, even though the 79-year-old man has been out of management for more than 10 years.

Tottenham Willing To Offload Star Striker To Bordeaux

The Albiceleste seem to be looking more towards the younger generation, but top talent like Diego Simeone and Mauricio Pochettino will not be easy to be lured from Atlético de Madrid and Tottenham.

The Impatience Of Barcelona

The Impatience Of Barcelona

Paco Alcácer has been a revelation this season. Like a phoenix reborn since joining Borussia Dortmund on loan, he has scored eight times in five games in all competitions, as well as scoring three goals for the Spainish National team.

Miracle or legitimate striker at work?

Already joint-top scorer in the German Bundesliga goal chart with seven goals from four appearances, Paco Alcacer seems to be enjoying himself at Borussia Dortmund after two difficult years at Barcelona.

The Spanish striker’s instant stardom in Germany has come as a surprise, well not much of a surprise to the true believers in his ability.

Even Spain manager, Luis Enrique has been in awe of a striker who may have found a new extraordinary ability to scored with ease after mostly overlooking the 25-year-old in their year together at Camp Nou.

“He is massive at the moment as he is in a state that players rarely reach,” he said amid Alcacer’s run of three goals in two games for La Roja last week. “What we are seeing from him is miraculous.” Luis Enrique said.

Alcácer has always had it in him to score goals, judging from his time with Valencia. A lack of faith and opportunities to prove himself at the Catalan club restricted his ability to shine at the highest level. Only the very observant football lovers would have noticed his goal scoring ability from his cameo roles at Barcelona.

With just seven shots on target in just 126 minutes of Bundesliga football, as well as netting once in the Champions League too, Alcacer has shown Dortmund that he is the man to call upon to deliver the lasting blow in an encounter.

He has fought his way back into the national team after over two years in the wilderness and also announcing his arrival by notching a brace against Wales.

As Spain were losing to England, he was once again called upon to display his superpowers by heading in an Aversion corner kick.

His confidence seems to sky high even after a torrid time at Barcelona, now performing at a new level looking sharper than ever.

“I don’t think I’ve lost two years [at Barcelona],” he said this week. “In terms of the number of minutes I had, it’s clear that I’d have liked to play more, but I have improved a lot as a footballer and as a person. It’s a bit of everything: a goodstreak, confidence, having minutes and, above all, working every day when you do not play to be able to be well when you return.”

Had Barcelona been aware of the ease at which to get the best out of him, they may have given him more minutes.

“It was a very, very, very good transfer,” coach Lucien Favre said, summing up Dortmund’s excitement as they are unbeaten at the top of the Bundesliga.

Barcelona director speaks on LaLiga club signing Pogba

Barcelona club director, Ariedo Braida, has revealed that the Spanish club is not likely to buy Paul Pogba from Manchester United this season, since Rafinha is set to stay at the Camp Nou.

Last week, Barca president, Josep Maria Bartomeu said the door is left open for Paul Pogba to join Barcelona, while the LaLiga champions vice president Jordi Mestre also told ESPN FC that the club would be ready to sign the player if a deal will be materialized before the end of August.

I don’t think Barcelona will sign Paul Pogba this season, Braida told Radio Sportiva.

Rafinha, has decided to stay at the camp Nou, after series of negotiations with the player and agent.

Rafinha, will probably stay with the Spanish champions, Braids said.

The midfielder has a lot of quality, his a player that can decide games, with the way he holds the ball on the pitch, he can as well go far for further attacks.

Rafinha, had a bad injury last year, but when he came back he did a lot of good things for the club.

The Barcelona midfielder, has a lot of impressive technical skills and his set to replace departed Andres Iniesta at Barca.

Barcelona, who lost Iniesta last season had been in the transfer market for a summer replacement, but Braids believes Rafinha will fill in his void.
